Environment / Ethical Policy

Stores Direct are dedicated to ensuring that our activities have as little an impact on the environment as possible. We feel very strongly about the issues on that are affecting our planet. Below are just a few of the ways we strive to make a difference.

Minimising our Carbon Footprint

We strive to use public transport or bicycles wherever possible to reach work or meeting points around the country. With frequent meetings in London and other built up areas - we do our best to arrive by train and by foot. We have a cycling group that meets on the way to work every morning - and an area for bikes to be left safely throughout the day. These are just some of the ideas we promote.

Using Energy Smartly

We endeavour to make sure that all unused appliances are switched off, and at the end of every day make sure power is turned off at the wall. We have high efficiency kettles and microwaves and use only low energy lighting in our offices.

We strive to source a great range of FSC garden and outdoor living range - with high quality parasols, furniture, benches all being sourced with a responsible sustainability policy in place. We take the problem of deforestation very seriously.

Paper and Print Wastage

We do our best to keep all the workings of our company on the computer and make sure to only print when absolutely necessary - we have shredding machines and recycling bins for all print, and also take wastage of paper very seriously. We recycle all of our ink cartridges with a cartridge recycling bin by most printers.

To conclude, we are increasingly more aware of the problems that are facing our planet and are more than happy to take measures to ensure its continued survival. If we are ever asked on our environmental and ethical policy nearly every member of staff will tell you with feeling the steps we take to ensure we're doing our best.
